New York Fashion Week - Loring New York Spring/Summer 2022

Good morning guys!

I hope you’ve all gotten to sleep in a little bit and ready to catch up on some runway shows today. The lineup I’ll be reporting is going to be pretty short since most of the designers I wanted to see had already shown their collections earlier this week.

With that being said, let’s get to some designers!

First up is Loring New York. This label is a womenswear brand launched in 2016 by Parsons School of Design graduate, Long Xu. The aesthetic of the brand is a modern interpretation of folk art and handicraft stemmed from experiencing and respecting tradition and culture.

Loring’s Spring/Summer 2022 collection is centered on floral themes of artists likes Henri Matisse, specifically his Cut Outs series to help emphasize the collection’s handcrafted aspect of the brand - floral embroidery patchwork, crochet, and hand drawn flowers.

These pieces are all very wearable to me - either daywear (work appropriate pieces - middle column images: blue print dress, and solid lavender dress) OR evening wear (cocktail dresses or industry events).
