Downtown Denim on Denim

Aside from it actually being chilly cold - today was a pretty chill day since it was “spring forward” for Daylight Savings Time. Needed to get out of the house after the rainy weather yesterday. Also because we lost an hour of much needed beauty rest, it was just better to get up at what our “normal” time and get ourselves super tired throughout the day so we’d go to bed earlier and get more sleep tonight.

We decided on heading down into Downtown Sacramento and roam around for a bit since we don’t really go into that area too much anymore with the Golden 1 Center and the craziness it brought. There was actually a Sacramento Kings game later in the day around 6:00PM, and we eventually started seeing people walking in as it got closer to the start time. We walked around the outside of the arena and window shopped some of the stores around it as we killed time before the crowds came - leaving just before they did.

I love the denim on denim look but usually have a hard time making it look like I want it to - either it looks great, or it looks off. It’s taken a few different tries, but I feel like I got this version how I want it. Although they may look like they’re made from the same brand, they’re not. The jacket is Madewell, and the jeans are from Garage Clothing. I kept it kind of punk rock with my combat boots, and a Beatles band tee.

I feel denim is an all-season closet staple, so it can be worn just about all year round - okay, maybe more denim shorts than the jackets and long jeans in the summer but still, I think denim can be worn the majority of the year. With the cooler weather today, this denim ensemble was perfect for keeping me warm.
