New York Fashion Week - ADEAM Spring/Summer 2022

Good morning everyone!

New York Fashion Week is HERE! Today is the first “official” day of Fashion Week, and although I can’t physically be at the shows due to a multitude of reasons (COVID-19 being the biggest reason), I’ll be watching many of the shows via live stream.

That’s right, the official website of NYFW.com is live streaming many of the shows so that anyone can watch from home.

First designer on the blog today is Hanako Maeda.

Hanako Maeda is the Founder and Creative Director of ADEAM - a brand that evokes an “East meets West” aesthetic. The brand’s inspiration comes from a mix of her upbringing spent in Tokyo and New York. ADEAM is known for using traditional Japanese techniques on modern silhouettes. The brand’s name comes from her own name, Maeda. Maeda debuted her first collection with ADEAM at New York Fashion Week Fall 2013 and continues to evolve and grow with each new collection.

Her show today featured a getaway to ADEAM island, a virtual tropical isle. The collection showcases dreamy colors, tactile fabrics, and new techniques that hopes to take its wearers on a sartorial escape.

Some of my favorite looks are below. To view the entire collection and watch the runway show, please go to ADEAM’s website here.

More shows will be reported on soon, so stay tuned. We’ve got a WHOLE WEEK of them!

Until then, stay safe and healthy!
