Spring/Summer 2021 Fashion Flash

Hey everybody!

Happy New Year! I think it’s pretty safe to say that 2020 was CRAP, so we’re hitting the “reset” button with 2021.

With that said, the first post for 2021 is some of the Spring & Summer 2021 trends I’ve seen from the runways (virtual ones of course) - I’d like to call it a “fashion flash” post.

FLOWER POWER

Flowers symbolize new beginnings, so what better way to kick off 2021 than with floral prints. Many designers, such as Anna Sui, showcased prints of various sizes, while some also included an all-over print.

A LOTTA HOLES

With the weather slowing starting to warm up, and the days starting to get longer, it’s no surprise that showing some skin is inevitable, especially with the year we’ve had being cooped up inside. Designers are putting a bit of a spin on this cutout trend by putting holes in their garments to reveal skin in unexpected ways.

SHACKETS

What the heck is it? Historically a military-style shirt-jacket, it is literally a shirt that is thicker than said counterpart but lighter than a genuine jacket. It can be layered over a tee in the Spring and Summer months but also provide added warmth over a light sweater or under an overcoat in Autumn and Winter. It’s year-round staple wardrobe piece and comes in a variety of fabrics ranging from denim to leather and everything in between.

THE COLOR PINK

Several big name stylists predict that PINK may be the new color of the year. From subtle pastel and muted hues like bubblegum and blush to brightly saturated and neon shades, this girl color is sure to gain some popularity this year.

TRACKSUITS

Think back to early 2000 when Paris Hilton made those velour tracksuits a “thing.” Yep that’s right, tracksuits are about to get a comeback but this time with different fabrics like silk or knits. Should you be so surprised since many of us have had to work from home due to COVID last year? No, which is why I added it. Lol.
